We are always happy to help if there are any issues at check in and it usually only takes a matter of minutes to help the hotel find the names and reservation. In this instance, our client arrived before check in and called us to say that the hotel did not have his reservation. We quickly reconfirmed the booking and the guest was able to check in once his room was ready.

I could not understand Paula, the booking agent - strong Scottish accent. It took forever to get the actual booking, telephone calls, emails, etc. all expensive when calling from a foreign place

We try our best to help all our customers as efficiently as we can. We are proud of our accents and generally find they are clearly understood. We also offer the option of booking online, that way there are no long distance call charges and you can avoid speaking to someone. We are also quite happy (and regularly do) call our customers back if they are concerned about call charges. In this case Paula spent a great deal of time helping our customer with some detailed queries they had regarding transport to the hotel from the airport in Milan (sourcing information we do not have to hand). Paula texted (SMS) our customer some details as they did not have email access. Paula also emailed the voucher direct to the hotel as the customer would not be able to print it. We have always enjoyed our opportunities to talk with our customers and have found that feeling reciprocated.... as the majority of feedback suggests. We are genuinely upset by this feedback.
