This is officially a “hostal” however don’t let that put you off! All rooms are ensuite, very clean and although basic they are comfortable. For a great location and great value budget accommodation this is ideal. Less than 5 minutes off the Ramblas this small property is well managed with helpful and friendly staff.

The Pricipal has a good city centre location near to the Ramblas. While it is a simple budget hotel it is better than most of the two stars in Barcelona. Room standard, breakfast and room size are better than many of the other budget hotels in the centre of Barcelona.

The Parallel Hotel is a 66 room hotel, a majority of which are twin bedded rooms. The rooms are modern and clean, of a good standard. The hotel is situated about half a mile from the Ramblas, so gives good access to the attractions. This would suit those who want a clean and comfortable base for the exploring the city.

Simple, tourist standard hotel in a good central location about ten minutes walk from the Ramblas. The area is called Barcelonetta and its next to the port not far from the beach. Recently renovated to a good modern standard.

The Suizo has a great location in the Gothic Quarter a few minutes walk from the Cathederal and the Ramblas. Its a very central city location, much sought after. Room standard and level of service is variable, on most dates there are usually better value hotels available.

A good clean small budget hotel with an excellent location, literally a one minute walk from the Ramblas and surrounded by the charming Gothic Quarter. The rooms are small, basic but adequate, and kept very clean. The Adagio provides simple accommodation and good service, ideal if you need a base right in the centre.

The Oasis hotel's port location gives good access to the Ramblas and the Gothic quarter, ideal for exploring the city. The hotel is basic two star standard, yet clean and practical for a budget traveller. There is currently some up-grading work being carried out, the date of completion is to be advised. The most common remarks from guests are the friendly staff, who are always willing to help.

The Espana boasts a fantastic location just off the Ramblas, so provides a great base for who want to be in the hive of activity. Although the hotel is a simple two star, the building itself has some stunning historic features. The rooms and facilities are very basic but clean, and best suited to budget travellers looking for functional accommodation with location. The hotel will infact close in August '08 for rennovation, however people should be aware that some work has started, though is not too invasive.

A simple no frills budget hotel in a great city centre location. Rooms are clean and comfortable and all have private bathroom. Many customers report noise from traffic and other roooms so it may not suit light sleepers. Breakfast is a minimal but sufficient given the standard.
