This is a modern and stylish hotel, situated in the hustle & bustle of the city centre, only a stones throw from the Ramblas. The hotel boasts great facilities, so guests can escape the busy surroundings to relax and unwind.

Just a 2 minute walk and you are on Las Ramblas.
Good level of service with helpful staff
Spa and outdoor pool give the hotel an edge over similar hotels.
Rooms are modern, clean and a very good size for Barcelona.

The Catalonia Ramblas Hotel is situated just a couple of minutes walk off Plaza Catalunya and the famous Ramblas Street. Its location is convenient for travellers arriving by bus or taxi from the Barcelona Airport. The Hotel is 20 mts away from the nearest metro station and approximately 15 minutes walk from the Port. The Gothic Quarter can be reached easily, within 4 minutes, by foot.

Great location just 1 min walk from Plaza Catalunia and La Rambla... Location perfect... The Hotel is very convenient to Airport Bus at Plaza Catalonya ... Handy for the ladies shopping both left and right of the hotel.... Top of Ramblas but an oasis of calm... Location is brilliant as close to La Ramblas and the main shopping streets and sites... The location was excellent... convenient to Metro and Ramblas... Perfect location at top of La Ramblas... Great location 5 minute walk for catalonia square... 2 minute walk and you are on las ramblas! ... perfect location... well situated for a variety of resturants, cafe,bars and shops... Many of the sights and interesting areas are easily accesable on foot.... Close to centre of Barcelona. ... Really good central location with good access to city centre plus metro ...

Maids were great and cleaned every day! ... very helpful ,friendly staff... Hotel staff were reluctant to deal with noisy guests. ... Not good Spa only sauna,hamam and aroma shower no pool. ... indoor spa facility not fully available at time of stay... Pool a great bonus on hot days... Lovely food and great facilities... The hotel bar was a little pricey but so is the whole city!... comfortable bar area to meet and have a drink, good sandwiches at lunch time. ... Restaurant in hotel very good... General Hotel Information

The newest property of the Catalonia Hotel chain opened its' doors to guests on August 2006 and occupies a renovated modernist building of the year 1903. The Hotel is situated in the historic center of Barcelona, so it allows to its guests to access all sights of interest within a few minutes walk. The Hotel, although it features a traditinal modernist facade is contemporary in style and all of its 221 rooms are stylish, modern, and spacious. Except from the standard facilities that you would expect from a 4 star hote in the city center, the Catalonia Ramblas also features an outdoor swimming pool, a garden area, a gymnasium as well as spa facilities. In general it is an excellent 4 star hotel in the heart of the city.

Great hotel... all perfect really... Would and have recommend this hotel ... When we arrived we were told that we would not be staying at this Hotel that it was was not hotel we booked?? ... Excellent hotel... All round excellent place to stay.... I will use it again... The hotel breakfast was one of the best I have come accross ... The hotel was modern and clean... Would stay again... breakfasts were very good with a full and wide selection... breakfast was good and included in price.... Me and my boyfriend had a great time in this hotel... Would highly recommend this hotel!... Breakfast was excellent. Lots of choice, in a huge dining room.... At first impression a very nice hotel, but as ALL the floors are marble & all the walls wood, it makes it VERY noisy & echoey, especially at 3am when drunken guests arrive back....

Salamanca restaurant great but a little far away - Rita Lounge for lounge - La Xina for Chinese food

Esspresso coffee should be made available at breakfast time, even if there is a surcharge to pay. I did not enjoy being told that I couldn't be served one as it wasn't part of the breakfast 'deal'

Top Tip

Fabulous city. Sagrada Familia definitely worth seeing. Great shopping on all levels - designer to bargain. Ramblas for plenty of restaurants. Word of warning -i can't stress enough, keep tight hold of bags - one of our party had her purse taken - they are very quick!!

When we arrived we were told that we would not be staying at this Hotel that it was was not hotel we booked?? I had the internet booking printed off and they still disputed it which was really annoying..Funny cos it definately WAS!!we were given no explanation as to why we were being moved to their sister hotel Hotel Berna, which was a good 15/20 mins walk to la ramblas and not as nice as this hotel. The staff on the desk were not very helpful and to be honest I think they had over booked and just wanted to get rid of us. When we got to the sister hotel Berna the hotel receptionist told us that the catalonia had a problem with it water ... yeah right.. as the next day we seen people checking in. All in all disappointed at the lack of explanation but the hotel is beautiful, trendy and has a nice relaxing pool area that we used even though we were shunted off to the other hotel. Its a bit pricey though a can of diet coke by the pool was a staggering €5.00 TOTAL RIP OFF!!!

Top Tip

Definately do the open bus tour , 2 days is better value at €26 , one day is €20, also look in the voucher booklet for discounts into different attractions. Good pubs are My Bar and any of the Irish Bars!!!

Excellent hotel. Location perfect. Room fantastic. only one small downfall - indoor spa facility not fully available at time of stay, and quite small.

Top Tip

Use the airport bus rather than taxis - taxi 28 euros, bus 4.10 euros each and every six minutes from the square. also use the tour bus to discover the city, 20 euros for one day or 26 euros for two days.

The Hotel is very convenient to Airport Bus at Plaza Catalonya (200m) and the Ramblas. Had a room on second floor over the entrance and slept perfectly each night because balcony window soundproofed. Pool a great bonus on hot days. Did'nt use reataurant in hotel so cannot comment. Plenty of alternatives downtown. Recommend Place Real for good value.
