Gaudi Hotel

The Gaudi Hotel offers a great location, just 75 meters off Las Ramblas and directly opposite the Palau Guell, one of Gaudis well-known pieces of architecture. The short walk on to Las Ramblas or across it into the Gothic Quarter means you are close to numerous restaurants and bars plus all the sites of this unique area. Port Vell, with its outdoor fish restaurants, and the Maremagnum are also only 5 minutes walking distance from the hotel. There are 2 underground stations within 5 minutes walk (Liceu and Drassanes). It is approximately 25 to 30 minutes from the Barcelonas main airport by taxi.

These are generally large by Barcelona standards and some have balconies and terraces with double doors leading onto them. All rooms are offered at the same price, so room allocation is on a first-come-first-serve basis. The terraces are large, however, with reasonable views and most have space for at least 2 chairs and a table. Rooms are clean, well kept and modern, with many offering plenty of natural light. The décor on the whole is plain with tiled floors and beige walls, giving rooms a feel that is more functional than romantic. The Gaudi has 73 rooms, comprising 12 doubles, 41 twins, 8 triples, 5 quads (these have collapsible beds that come down from the walls) and 1 suite. The suite has 1 bedroom and lounge, with a sofa bed and a single bed in a small section just off the lounge. There are doors that lead on to a terrace. There are 3 rooms suitable for wheel chair access. The maximum in a room is 4 adults and 1 infant (with cot) – in a quad/family room. There are 3 sets of interconnecting rooms, where both of the rooms are accessible by one lockable door that leads to the hallway.

Rooms are modern, plain and functional, all have en suite bathrooms. The hotel is of particular interest for lovers of the famous Catalan architect Antonio Gaudi, as it is just opposite his first large-scale work the Palau Guell. This urban residence articulates Gaudi?s search for new ideas in construction as well as a totally personal, innovative interpretation of historical styles. The top three floors of the hotel face the famous multicolour towers designed by Gaudi. The Gaudi Hotel receives many customers through personal recommendations and word of mouth.
