The Montblanc hotel is located in the centre of Barcelona, near Plaza De Catalunya, Passeig De Gracia and the Gothic Quarter. From here it will take you approximately 4 minutes to reach Plaza de Catalunya and the Cathedral in the Gothic Quarter. The famous Las Ramblas is also just 5 minutes walk away, while the well- known Passeig De Gracia is only 3 blocks away from the hotel. If you want to wander around a beautiful square with cafes and shops, then you should certainly visit the Plaza d Urquinaona, just 2 minutes away. To reach other parts of Barcelona you will have to use the underground. The nearest stations are Plaza Catalunya, Jaume, and Urquinaona. The area around the hotel is quite busy because Via Laietana is one of the citys principal streets. However, stylish traditional buildings some used for residential purposes but the majority used for business purposes surround the hotel. In general, the location of the hotel is ideal for that kind of traveler who wish to be centrally located, close to restaurants, cafes and shops.

The majority of the guestrooms are very spacious, compared with other hotels in Barcelona. The interior rooms overlook the patio and the swimming-pool area, while the exterior rooms, overlooking the street, feature a good-sized balcony. All rooms are equipped with en suite three-piece bathrooms. The floors and the walls of the bathrooms are decorated with white and cream coloured tiles and are equipped with auxiliary telephone and hair-dryer. The walls in the bedrooms are painted light cream and the furniture is modern. The floors are carpeted. All the guestrooms are equipped with air-conditioning, satellite TV, free ADSL connection, mini-bar, and safe. The Montblanc hotel has 157 rooms, 10 double, 140 twin, 10 triple, and 7 single rooms. There are no suites or quad rooms.

General Hotel Information

The Montblanc hotel is one of our favourite hotels in Barcelona due to it's facilities, comfort and location. It is a member of the HCC chain of hotels, which specializes in Barcelona. Other hotels that belong to the chain are the Regente, the Open, the Sant Moritz, the Taber and the Covadonga. HCC stands for Hoteles Centro Ciudad (hotels in the center of the city.) The Montblanc is the newest and most modern addition. It opened in 2003. The exterior of the property is modern and as soon as you enter the lobby the overall effect is impressive. It is appointed in excellent quality cream coloured marble and a small seating area that consists of two sofas and a glass table is situated to the right side of the reception desk. Also to the right side of the reception desk, guests will find the Restaurant Gaudi, which serves buffet breakfasts, lunch and dinner. While walking to the restaurant you cannot help but notice the colourful floor, decorated with blue and white waves, that creates a Mediterranean feel. You will also notice a set of spiral stairs that lead to the patio and the swimming pool area. The Montblanc is a good modern 3 star hotel providing guests with a healthy range of facilities in a very central location.
