NH Duc De La Victoria

The NH Duc De La Victoria is located in heart of Barcelonas Gothic Quarter. Its location in relation to the famous Las Ramblas, Plaza Catalunya and Cathedral could not be better: all are under 4 minutes walk from the hotels doorstep. There are plenty of small and interesting shops, cafes, delis and restaurants along the narrow side streets that make up the Gothic Quarter. Metro stations Liceu and Catalunya are equidistant from the hotel about 3 minutes walk. Barcelonas main airport is approximately 13kms away (25 minutes away by taxi.) The taxis cannot take you to right outside the hotel, as most of the Gothic Quarter is pedestrianised. However you will only be 2 minutes walk from the hotel. All this makes the hotel an ideal base from which to explore what Barcelona has to offer.

The rooms are a good size for Barcelona and especially the Gothic Quarter. They have cherry red laminate floors and make good use of frosted glass, creams and dark blues. The overall effect is stylish modern rooms that provide a high level of comfort and good range of facilities. The bathrooms are clean, modern with lots of marble and glass. All bathrooms have a window. The Duc De La Victoria has 156 rooms, of which 46 are doubles, 97 twins, 5 superior rooms and 1 single. Triple rooms are on request and made by providing an extra bed in the large twin rooms. Ther are also 7 junior Suites, comprising a queen size bed and sofa bed along with 2 TVs. Maximum occupancy per room is 3 adults plus an infant/cot. Inter-connecting rooms of which there are 6 sets, one per floor, where both of the rooms are accessible by one lockable door that leads to the hallway. These rooms are only ever on request and cannot be guaranteed. Child policy is up to 12 years there is no charge for the extra bed or breakfast. Safe deposit boxes are in all rooms and there is no charge for their use. The hotel does have a non-smoking floor.

General Hotel Information

The hotel is a modern building, but it blends well with the traditional Gothic Quarter buildings that surround it. With 156 rooms the hotel is quite large for its location. However it does not have the feel or look of a large hotel. The entrance and lobby make good use of green marble, dark stained wood and frosted glass. The hotels interior is modern and comfortable, making it suitable for the business clientele it entertains during the week but also perfect for the weekend leisure market. The rooms are, in general, a good size for Barcelona and their decor (dark blues, cream and cherry red) is modern and really well thought out. The hotel itself has only been running since 2000, so everything still has a very fresh and modern feel. The staff are helpful and informative, this is a strongly recommended hotel providing an excellent base and high level of service.
