The hotel is 3 minutes' walk to the Temple Bar area, via the Millennium Bridge and the Merchants Arch. Grafton Street is also just 5 minutes' walk away. Situated at the bottom of O'Connell Street, the hotel overlooks the River Liffey and it is very close to Henry Street and the medieval part of the city. The hotel is also close to Busáras (Dublin's central bus station), about 10 minutes' walk from where the Airlink Service terminates. The cost of a taxi from the airport is usually 25 Euro.

The hotel houses 116 refurbished guestrooms and will soon be adding 16 more. The guestrooms are decorated with cream walls and orange carpeted floors. New bedspreads and curtains have been added to the rooms and all have windows. Some of the exterior rooms overlook the River Liffey, while the interior ones look out over neighbouring residential buildings. The rooms feature double glazed windows and mahogany furniture, lending them a traditional, welcoming feel. The top floor of the hotel is non smoking, while the rest are smoking. Family rooms are available and they usually consist of a King-size bed and two singles. Triple rooms are also available and they consist of 1 Double and 1 Single or 4 Single Beds. The rooms located on the first floor are usually quite noisy due to the traditional Irish music played in the bar every night until 11.00pm.

General Hotel Information

The Arlington Hotel has a casual and informal feel to it. It opened 10 years ago and was bought in 2005 by the Fitzgerald Group, which owns more than 20 pubs, most of which are in Dublin. The exterior is Georgian, which lends the building a traditional look. The spacious lobby is quite welcoming and has a medieval feel to it, being decorated with Norman Arches, wood paneling, and suits of armour. There's also a generous seating area adjacent to the reception desk, furnished with old style brown sofas and coffee tables. On the left side of the entrance door is the bar, where breakfast is also served during the mornings.
