This hotel suits me perfectly - budget accommodation in a well-run establishment convenient for the city centre. Our room was very comfortable and provision for breakfast was good

Some interesting restaurants in Dalry Road. The Gallery of Modern Art offers a pleasant self service venue for lunch. Browns in George Street is a lovely place for a coffee, a drink, or a meal, and the standards of service there are excellent.

Le Marche Noir - good food if a little pricey.
The castle and Royal Mile are a must.
The Old Town has some nice restaurants and interesting shops if you do a little scouting about.
