Menzies Belford Hotel

Located beside the Water of Leith in a tranquil part of Edinburgh's New Town, the hotel is fronted by a main road offering guests access to not only the public transport but the open topped tour buses which stop outside. A walk of only 10 minutes would take you to Princes Street and a pleasant walk following the Water of Leith will lead you to either Leith one way or Murrayfield the other.

Of the 146 guestrooms, there is a mix of executive and standard rooms. Standard rooms are decorated in an inoffensive manner, with plain bedding, pale walls and oak coloured furniture. All have small work desk, lounge chairs and ironing centre in addition to satellite TV and dial-up internet connections. Rooms tend not to be terribly big but do offer a very good standard of comfort. Bathrooms are clean and bright with bath & shower, along with the usual array of toiletries and facilities you would expect.

General Hotel Information

A purpose built hotel, the Menzies Belford caters to both business and leisure guests with ease.
The large and welcoming lobby has plenty of seating in plush fabrics and funky animal print offering a spacious relaxing atmosphere to catch up with friends or take advantage of the wi-fi internet facility, which the hotel offers in all public areas. The bank of lifts opposite the reception desk lead to the bedrooms, restaurant/bar & parking garage. The dedicated business centre with meeting rooms is also accessible from the reception area.

The hotel has two bars, both in the basement and leading out to the back of the hotel where there is a small but nice terrace. The lounge bar is huge, attached to the restaurant and offers plenty of space to relax with a drink. There are two internet terminals in the bar area for the use of those guests who cannot take advantage of the wi-fi service.
The public bar “The Granary” is very popular with local residents and has both international rugby and Scottish cricket memorabilia adorning the walls. The bar can be accessed from either the exterior door or through the restaurant and lounge bar. A lively night can be expected in the Granary and during large sporting events, the bar will often be full.

The Brasserie restaurant offers nice views as well as excellent cuisine and is also used at breakfast time for the large self serve buffet.

Car parking in this hotel is free of charge and is strictly on a first come first served basis. Altogether there are about 46 spaces, some being in the basement of the hotel undercover and some being outside and to the rear of the hotel.
