We even had a view of the castle at no extra charge... only problem we had was that you could not regulate the hot water in the shower... Rooms were very good... clean and comfortable ... Room satisfactory... There was no wardrobe and we could hardly walk around the bed... overlooked the dustbins and was extremely dark... chair at the desk could not be fully pulled out because it hit the bed... Room was comfortable and nicely decorated... our room was just round the corner from Princess Street... Not bothered by noise ... Only one comfortable chair in room... Very hot in the room ... room was very dark ... IF YOU LIKE A GOOD NIGHTS SLEEP BOOK A NON FRONT FACING ROOM... VIEWS OF CASTLE GARDENS AND ALL THE AMUSEMENTS ...

General Hotel Information

This hotel is housed in a very elegant late-Victorian building, situated in the centre of the city, opposite Waverley train station. Accessible via stairs, the lobby area is very small, with traditional, blue-toned decor and Austrian blinds. Also decorated in soft, pastel shades, the guestrooms are comfortable and equipped with standard facilities. The restaurant serves excellent Scottish produce and features a hard wood floor, cornicing and white pillars. Both the cocktail bar and restaurant offer spectacular views across Princes Street gardens to Edinburgh Castle.
