The hotel is located in the heart of Glasgow, very close to the School of Art, the Royal Concert Hall and the Theatre Royal. Boutique shopping in Buchanan Street and the bars, restaurants and clubs of the Merchant City are just 10 minutes’ walk away.

Air conditioning is currently installed in refurbished rooms, it will be available in all rooms end of 2008. In-room mini bars available on request. All rooms have a bath & shower. Disabled rooms are fully adapted for wheelchair access.

General Hotel Information

The Thistle Hotel is housed in a large, modern red brick building with an imposing entrance. The spacious lobby is attractively appointed with modern art, art deco furniture and unusual light fixtures. A long, curving wood-panelled reception desk runs the length of it and there is ample comfortable seating. Also spacious, the 300 guestrooms feature traditional, if somewhat chintzy décor. They are clean and well maintained, as are the tiled en suite bathrooms. The hotel has two excellent restaurants. One - the "Cabin Restaurant" - offers à la carte menus and a set business lunch, whilst the other - the improbably named "Gengis Taste Revolution" - features an impressive hot and cold carving buffet. The "Cabin Bar" is also open until late and serves light meals. The hotel's Otium Health and Leisure club features a swimming pool, hot spa baths, sauna, steam rooms, gym and a range of health and beauty treatments.
