Disappointed that hotel bar and restaurant were closed for refurbishment. However, breakfast was excellent - really good choice and plenty. Hotel situated 5 mins from old town - perfect

The first room we were offered No 389 was filthy. The bedding was stained, the walls were scuffed, the carpets were dirty and it had an overpowering odour of cats/sweat. It is hard to believe this had not been picked up during routine house keeping. The breakfasts are very poor being served on tiny side plates
Top Tip
We booked a local taxi driver to take to the salt museum and Auswitz in one day. It worked really well with great local knowledge, informative detours and a lower price than the hotel could offer.

I was given a room on the first floor within 10 metres or so of trams passing along a busy road immediately below. The receptionist refused a request for a change of room. The breakfast choices were very mediocre.
Top Tip
ALWAYS ask for a back room away from the busy street and request that this is confirmed before your departure.

If I visit Krakow again I won't be stayting at his hotel - the beds are rock hard and there's no bar for an end of day drink. The rooms were clean if not rather small and the carpets needed cleaning.

Comment
The Hotel that we booked the Monopol Hotel was not able to accommodate us on arrival as the previous residences had damaged several rooms and our room was one of them. Therefore, we had to be re-located in one of their sister hotel called the Residezt Hotel as result I cannot comment on the Monopol Hotel.
