If you go expecting 2 star you will be pleasentaly surprised. There is some tram noise from the front rooms. Hotel staff friendly and the restruant offers large value for money meals, we ate there all but once, try the pork knuckle, one between two!! if you eat as a starter. Look out the window at the castle.5 minute walk to the main square.

Krakow has a good selection of bars, cellar bars aplenty watch the steep steps though or sit around the main square and people watch though this will be dearer but then it is in every city.Took taxi to Auschwitz would recommend this as opposed to organised tour, leave two hours for Auschwitz and hour for Bickenau used krakowtaxi4u.com excllent, driver stayed with us all day, book him for the airport run also.

Very good location for all attractions of central Krakow. We had a modern triple room which was at the back of the hotel and was very quiet.Hotel is grand but faded.Room was large with very high ceiling. The bathroom was modern with a very good shower but there was no hairdryer.TV had no English speaking channels .Breakfast was varied and plentiful served in the restaurant next to the hotel. This was also a good venue to eat at night.Very good value hotel for a budget break and would certainly recommend it.

Salt mine excursion is good. The Castle is right opposite the hotel and is well worth a visit.Lots of fab churches with very ornate decoration. Many of them have concerts-we went to one in a tiny church near the castle which lasted about an hour one night. The open top bus was operating when we were there but I think it stops in the winter. The Kazimierz district (the Jewish district)is a must do and see the synagogues and cemeteries and the Galicia Jewish Museum with the unforgettable video footages of pre WW2 Krakow life followed by the war years, the ghetto and the murdering by the Nazi regime.A very sobering experience.Auchwich is about 70k away but we did not have time to visit. We treated ourselves to a horse drawn carriage ride around central Krakow which cost us about £23 for half an hour.Fun but expensive.

Very clean. Staff helpful and friendly. Great admiration for the girls who carried the huge trays! Great atmosphere and good food in the restaurant.

2 very good and cheap vegetarian restaurants within 10 minutes walk of the hotel. If you like shopping bring a half empty suitcase - lots of nice things at good prices. Would recommend the Salt mines and Auschwitz trips with Cracow Tours.

Could do with more choice of wine like there is no rose wine in this hotel so if add more choice of drinks it would be easier.
