The only complaints we had were that the room was so tiny and very very warm, when we enquired about the air conditioning we were told it is not used in the winter months. The breakfast area was clearly not big enough and the staff found it hard to cope with the volume of guests even though all they served was Tea and Coffee.

Comment
Breakfast disappointing, I like fruit salad, bread rolls and coffee to start the day. The fruit salad was from a tin, bread rolls never seemed fresh and the coffee was from a machine and was awful. This was a shame because everything else about the hotel was perfect. We were a party of eight and were all put off dining at the hotel in the evening if the quality of the breakfast was the benchmark for the quality of the evening meal. However this was the only negative, everything else about the hotel was excellent.

Plan what you want to see before you go, so as to make best use of time there. I did not think the boat trip out to the islands was value for money. Rushed into the glass making factory and on into the shop. Rushed back to boat and onto lace making island, straight to shop, no time to look round, back to boat and onto 3rd island and again no proper time to look round. Great shame because the islands looked well worth spending some time on. Look round carefully before choosing eating places. There is excellent choice from eating pizza in the street (delicious) to self service restaurants (reasonably priced) and really nice restaurants if you want to push the boat out.

A delightful hotel with friendly staff who could speak english. There was a great choice for breakfast and the service was excellent. The room was quite small but nicely decorated and clean. The marble bathroom was beautiful.

The hotel is difficult to find but the map available from the Hotel's web site is quite accurate.

Don't be fooled by the room photo - it's of a superior room, and these are standard. And they're not standard, they're SUB-standard - tiny and crumbling with the most basic facilities (hence being slightly less exorbitant than the others).

Traditionally decorated with very interesting chandeliers in the room; exterior under renovation at the moment. Covers & scaffolding over water side of hotel. This was not at all evident from the inside however. Our room was quite small but had everything that was needed: tv, safe, mini bar, bath robes (& slippers!) plenty of towels & bed linen changed every day. There was even a pair of scales in the bathroom should you feel inclined!Staff were very friendly and went out of their way to be helpful.Ideal location for St Marks Square (3mins). We did find it quite difficult to find when we first arrived, but it was a very comfortable and pleasant stay.

Nearest vaporetto stops Valeresso or San Marco. Great to eat in St Marks Square but pricey - lunch of sandwiches & glass of wine & beer 47 euros - OK as a one off. Antipasta/ starters generally quite expensive. Gondoler ride great but again pricey - tour should last about 45 min or more. Nice bar just at the back of St Marks Sq - The Mask. Morano worth a trip if the weather's OK for a sroll around - but it really consists of loads of glass shops. Glass making not available to see at the weekends. Don't accept trips to Morano from men on Streets in Venice. Vaporetto best way to travel - boats really frequent and on time! Sunday service slightly less frequent.

Overall it was quite good, we didn't go to Venice to sit in a hotel anyway! The only comment is that the bathroom wasn't cleaned over the two nights - they made up the room but didn't pay too much attention to the bathroom.
